Alan Grubb left the U.S. Navy to pursue his passion of outdoor recreation and science. While enrolled at Garrett College he worked with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy as an outdoor educator on the Appalachian Trail. His degree from Garret College (2008) and bachelors from Frostburg State set him up for a career with the Bureau of Land Management in Moab Utah. There he worked as a park ranger on the Colorado River and trails around Moab. He then went to work for the Forest Service in Oregon, where highlights include wildland firefighting, being a part of the development of the Oregon Timber Trail and Oregon Desert Trail. He now works as a Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist for the Bighorn National Forest in Wyoming.
